Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The sports star had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two trusted companions.”
