Miami Heat and Trail Blazers Secure First Wins After Recent Detentions
Miami recorded 86 opening half scores versus the Memphis Grizzlies
Miami Heat secured a crushing 146-114 win over the Grizzlies in their first basketball game since player Rozier was arrested over alleged unlawful gambling.
Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups was additionally arrested as part of a broad federal probe into sports betting. The two individuals contest the claims.

"We all had positive times with Chauncey and his coaching style," Tiago said. "We're thinking of him and his family but we have a job to do."
NBA Commissioner Silver 'Upset' by Recent Events
Addressing the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Adam Silver stated he was "deeply disturbed" by the incidents of the recent days.
"There's nothing more important to the NBA and its fans than the integrity of the competition," he told Amazon Prime. "And so I felt uneasy. It was disturbing."
Silver also mentioned an league probe into the player's actions in spring 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a match he participated for the Charlotte Hornets versus the New Orleans Pelicans, discovered no wrongdoing.
"It was brought to our attention by the authorities and the gambling firms," he added.

"The federal government has subpoena power... [it] can threaten to put people in jail, can do all kinds of things that the league office can't do.
"So, we've been cooperating from that point. And, of course, what they revealed recently was an charge.
"Moreover two and a half years later, he still hasn't been convicted of anything, in justice to Rozier.
"Obviously, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a compromise here between protecting people's rights and investigating."
